Mohammed Kudus helps break Premier League record in West Ham United 1-1 draw v Crystal Palace

Mohammed Kudus helped break a Premier League record with his goal for West Ham United against Crystal Palace.

The attacker netted in the 13th minute of the clash at the London Stadium on Sunday (3 December), with Odsonne Edouard scoring for the visitors.

The point leaves the Hammers sitting ninth in the Premier League table on 21 points, with the Eagles in 12th on 16 points.

“A Premier League record was broken on Sunday as a mammoth 24 goals were scored from only five matches featuring a 4-3, 3-3 AND 3-2 thrillers,” according to the official Premier League website (3 December).

“The total of 24 goals is the most ever scored on a Sunday featuring a maximum of five matches. On an enthralling day full of twists and turns, and fine margins, every match was either drawn or won by just a single goal.”

Non-stop goals

The goals simply flew in across the five Premier League matches that took place on Sunday, although only two went in at the London Stadium.

Elsewhere, Liverpool and Fulham managed seven as the Reds defeated the Cottagers 4-3 at Anfield, with Manchester City and Tottenham scoring three each in their six-goal thriller in Manchester.

Chelsea meanwhile defeated Brighton 3-2 at Stamford Bridge, with Bournemouth and Aston Villa playing out a 2-2 stalemate at the Vitality Stadium.

Amid all the excitement, however, Hammers manager David Moyes will be disappointed not to have come out on top in their meeting with the Eagles.

It was certainly there for the taking for the East London club, but they couldn’t finish the job after going 1-0 up early on.

A draw is, however, not the worst result, particularly given how the men in claret and blue had only just played Backa Topola away from home on Thursday (30 November).

In other West Ham news, a Sky Sports pundit was stunned by what one Hammers ace did in the first half against Crystal Palace.
