Michael Dawson has head in hands at ‘nightmare’ Man City vs West Ham moment – ‘Oh my god’
Michael Dawson was in disbelief at West Ham’s defending against Man City.
West Ham suffered a 3-0 defeat away to Man City, with more and more misery starting to pile on Nuno Espirito Santo.
Erling Haaland scored twice to seal all three points for City, in what was a routine victory for the hosts – a statement which has proven true on far too many occasions this season.
While Pep Guardiola’s side showed their quality, West Ham also showcased their frailties, which, once again, came at the back.

Kyle Walker-Peters howler vs Man City criticsed by Dawson
Aside from one Jarrod Bowen chance at 2-0 down, West Ham barely laid a glove on City, who never really had to get out of first gear to continue their title push.
Haaland was left with too much space for the opening goal, but had a touch of fortune on his side for his second of the game.
A flick on from Rayan Cherki saw Kyle Walker-Peters in possession of the ball, but his touch came off Jean-Clair Todibo, with the ball then falling to the feet of Haaland.
Not for the first time this season, it was calamitous defending, and Dawson couldn’t believe what he was watching.
Via Sky Sports News, he said: “It’s an absolute nightmare. Wait until you see this. Oh my god. It’s an absolute mess.”

Nuno is teetering close to West Ham sack
Historically, less than one point per game in the Premier League can get you relegated, and since the appointment of Nuno, the Hammers have averaged just 0.83.
Out of the 12 games he has taken charge of, West Ham have won just two, with six defeats in that period.
Nuno’s record as West Ham manager
- 12 games played
- Two wins
- Four draws
- Six defeats
- 14 goals scored
- 22 goals conceded
Of course, the issues at West Ham go far beyond the manager, with recruitment over the last few years certainly contributing.
However, Graham Potter was sacked with an average of 0.92 points per game, and unless the Irons improve under Nuno, a similar fate surely awaits him.
