Mateus Fernandes sensational as new signing rubbish – West Ham player ratings vs Sunderland
Mateus Fernandes scored the pick of the bunch as West Ham United beat Sunderland 3-1 in the Premier League on Saturday.
Regis Le Bris’ team travelled to the London Stadium on 24 January, with the Hammers taking a three-goal lead into the break.
Crysencio Summerville opened the scoring in the 14th minute with a thunderous header before Jarrod Bowen scored from the spot after Trai Hume brought down Ollie Scarles in the box.
Fernandes found the back of the net just before the break with a brilliant long-range effort, and while Brian Brobbey did pull one back, West Ham saw out a convincing win.

West Ham United fans witness majestic Mateus Fernandes performance vs Sunderland
Fernandes has been attracting interest from the likes of Real Madrid, and it’s clear to see why.
The Hammers signed the 21-year-old for a hefty fee in the summer, and he’s lived up to expectations at the London Stadium.
Fernandes’ passing against the Black Cats was on several occasions, effectively stretching the opposition defence, and his goal only added to the sensational spectacle.

The Portugal Under-21 international has shown that he can be a driving force as the East London outfit look to avoid relegation from the Premier League.
Pablo doesn’t convince in win vs Sunderland
Pablo arrived at the start of January to help Nuno Espirito Santo’s cause, with the Hammers spending £20million for his move from Gil Vicente.
The 22-year-old has started in the last two games for the Irons, playing again behind Taty Castellanos against Sunderland.
Pablo played 71 minutes in the win over the Black Cats and missed one big chance, failed to complete his one dribble, recorded 75 per cent passing accuracy and couldn’t even contribute much defensively, winning just four of his 17 duels, as per Sofascore.
Callum Wilson arguably provides much more whenever he plays, and the Brazilian national surely hasn’t guaranteed his place in the team after the rubbish display at the London Stadium.
