West Ham United cruised to an impressive 3-1 victory against Aston Villa in the Premier League on Wednesday evening.

David Moyes changed his system once again, and it worked perfectly as the likes of Jack Grealish couldn’t make a massive difference at Villa Park.

Jesse Lingard was handed his full debut and it was the perfect evening for the England international with his new side.

Lingard played in the playmaker role and was influential in getting the three points.

With the game open at 1-0 in the second-half, Lingard chested down the perfect ball from Said Benrahma and fired home past Emi Martinez.

Paul Merson claimed recently that the Irons could have a “diamond” on their hands, and it is clear to see why on this basis.

Only Benrahma had a better pass success rate in the Hammers side than Lingard according to WhoScored, as he looks to prove himself once again at the London Stadium.

It certainly was the perfect start, and he got his second goal in the final five minutes to seal the three points after Ollie Watkins looked to have handed his side a chance.
