Many West Ham fans react to Michail Antonio display in West Ham defeat v Liverpool
West Ham United disappointingly crashed to a 3-1 defeat against Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
After an incredible run put together by Irons, it was a real dive back down to reality against the Champions at the London Stadium.
The Hammers had limited chances but were eventually blown away by two quick Mo Salah goals and one from Gini Wijnaldum.
Michail Antonio has endured a shocking week.
The 30-year-old has finally returned from injury and scored important winning goals against both West Brom and Burnley.
That has changed against Palace and Liverpool.
Antonio could have had a hattrick against Palace, but hit the post twice and missed an open-net by smashing it straight at Vicente Guaita who was stranded.
It didn’t get any better against the Reds, with the striker missing a golden chance to curl home – something which was punished only minutes later by Salah.
Antonio has had 12 shots in his previous four games according to WhoScored, meaning it has taken him six attempts to score in that time – nowhere near good enough.
Many West Ham fans have reacted to the display from Antonio, and they have slammed the striker for his performance and finishing.
The majority claimed that it also proved just how much the Irons need a new striker before the transfer deadline on Monday.
