Lucas Paqueta ripped to shreds over pathetic moment in West Ham vs Man City – ‘It’s incredible’

Lucas Paqueta seemed mesmerised by Manchester City as West Ham United lost 3-0 in the Premier League on Saturday.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s team gave themselves a mountain to climb at the Etihad Stadium, after going two goals down at the break.

Nuno is at risk of getting sacked at the London Stadium, and the performance in M11 will only put more pressure on him.

Paqueta didn’t help the Portuguese manager’s cause against the Sky Blues as he looked in awe of Rayan Cherki in the build-up to the second goal.

Lucas Paqueta does nothing to stop Rayan Cherki in West Ham loss vs Manchester City

Paqueta stood watching Cherki beat the Hammers’ defence before Tijjani Reijnders found the back of the net.

Mateus Fernandes lost the ball to the French winger, who went past a few of the Irons’ players before passing it to Erling Haaland, who set up the former AC Milan midfielder at the Etihad.

Adrian Durham ripped the Brazil international to shreds for not doing anything to stop the former Olympique Lyon forward.

Speaking on talkSPORT on 20 December at 16:10, the reporter said: “Paqueta is just standing to one side, and he’s literally just watching Cherki. He’s got no intention of trying to get physical with him, engage with him, let alone tackle him. He’s literally just watching him. He might as well stand there and applaud. It’s incredible.”

Man City were favoured to beat Nuno’s team, but the home side made it look easy in the first half.

The Hammers are hurtling towards relegation, and while the Sky Blues are a tough side, the East London outfit failed to put up a decent fight.

Nuno Espirito Santo decision baffles at Etihad Stadium

Nuno is without Aaron Wan-Bissaka and El Hadji Malick Diouf, with Kyle Walker-Peters and Oliver Scarles playing as full-backs against Man City.

West Ham have had relative success under the Portuguese manager, playing a back three, but the Irons decided against that at the Etihad.

The Hammers struggled to contain the Sky Blues’ wingers, and it would’ve surely been better to start Igor Julio in the back, along with Jean Clair-Todibo and Max Kilman.

It would’ve been disgusting for the away supporters to see the East London club fail to take a shot in the opening 45 minutes, and Nuno has to take the blame for it.
