Joe Cole can’t get enough of ‘unbelievable’ West Ham ace Jarrod Bowen
BT Sport pundit and former West Ham ace Joe Cole has shone the light on ‘unbelievable’ Jarrod Bowen ahead of the Hammers clash v Newcastle United.
The former Hull City man is the Hammers top performer in front of goal this season with 23 goals in all competitions so far this season.
Cole called for the Irons to sign more players like Bowen who took some time to adjust to the Premier League but hasn’t looked back since.
Cole said Bowen is “Obsessed with goals” on BT Sport.
He added: “He is second only to Mo Salah in the league, look at the names he is above it’s unbelievable.
“It took him a bit of time [to adjust to the Premier League] but he’s got better and better and better.
“I think he is one of the most improved players in the league. It was a great bit of business and I think the club should be after more Jarrod Bowen’s because he has been unbelievable.”
Crucial
Bowen has gone from strength to strength since making the move to east London from Hull.
His tally this season speaks for itself with only Mo Salah who has been argued to be the best player in the world this season above him in the league.
He has been excellent for the Hammers all season long as the heart of everything they do. It was difficult to see him keep up his relentless form earlier in the season but week after week the winger has delivered.
He has more than earned an England call up with the World Cup around the corner and it will be interesting to see the decision Gareth Southgate – who supposedly picks players solely based on form – makes.
Let’s hope the Irons can fight off any interest for their star man in the summer window and just as importantly add to this squad that have exceeded all expectations so far this season.
