Jeff Stelling predicts Liverpool v West Ham United scoreline in Premier League showdown

Jeff Stelling predicts Liverpool will “grind out a win” against West Ham at Anfield on Wednesday night.

David Moyes’ side are unbeaten in their last three Premier League matches with huge controversy costing them a couple of points against Southampton in their last outing.

On the other hand, Liverpool have started to kick into gear and Stelling has backed Jurgen Klopp’s side to earn a narrow 1-0 win over the Irons on Merseyside on Wednesday (19 October).

He wrote: “Elsewhere, Liverpool will grind out a win against West Ham and Chelsea will continue their great form under Graham Potter with a tough win at Brentford.”

Tough game

Liverpool will be well up for this game.

They’re going into it off the back of a 7-1 hammering of Rangers in the Champions League and a well-contested 1-0 victory of reigning champions Manchester City.

West Ham did well against Southampton and deserved to win but Moyes’ boys are down on the luck right now – as proven by the shambolic officiating at St Mary’s on Sunday.

We don’t expect to get anything from this game but we do expect to see the players at least put up a fight and make it difficult for Liverpool.

Moyes has a few players in this side who need to prove themselves because they’ve been lacking this season compared to the last two.

Even if we don’t get a point at Anfield, at least these players can prove to the boss – and to the fans – that they’re going to wear their heart on their sleeve and put 110 per cent into every performance for the Hammers.

That’s all we ask and any points we pick up on Merseyside will be a huge bonus.
