Jarrod Bowen's West Ham growth 'amazing' following FA Cup goal - Sky Sports reporter
Jarrod Bowen is in top form and has shown “amazing” development over the past 18-months, says the Sky Sports reporter Jaydee Dyer.
Bowen had been influential in the FA Cup Third Round tie against Leeds United having played a role in the build-up to Manuel Lanzini’s opener that many thought should have ruled the goal out, before completing the scoring himself.
Reacting on his personal Twitter after the English forward scored in injury time, the pundit was full of praise for his “growth” and “form”.
Dyer wrote: “Jared [sic] Bowen scores a goal deep into stoppage time for West Ham to double their lead and book their place in the (hat).
“But the growth and form of Jared [sic] Bowen last 18 months has been nothing short of amazing.”
It has been a season where West Ham have gone from strength to strength, maintaining a position near the top of the Premier League and claiming victories over Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham, while qualifying top of their Europa League group.
The former Hull City player has been a large part of that form, sitting second in the team in terms of goals and assists on 14, behind only Michail Antonio.
And he continued that at the London Stadium on Sunday when he broke away in the 93rd-minute to put the game beyond doubt and book the Iron’s place in the fourth round.
David Moyes’ men face a trip to National League North club Kidderminster Harriers in the next round.
With a gap of five divisions between the sides, West Ham will be confident of making a run further in the competition and will be hoping Bowen will be central to that.
And with another key attacking player, Said Benrahma, at the Africa Cup of Nations with Algeria, the responsibility will rest on Englishman’s shoulders all the more over the coming weeks.
In other West Ham news, this Hammers star was blasted for “acting” during the Leeds game.
