Jarrod Bowen quietly overtakes West Ham legend with stunning moment vs Brighton
West Ham hearts were broken on the road against Brighton after Jarrod Bowen’s second-half strike was cancelled out by a Georginio Rutter equaliser.
Bowen gave Nuno Espirito Santo’s men the lead in the 73rd minute after being played through by substitute Callum Wilson.
The Hammers thought that was enough to win the game following an excellent defensive performance, although sustained Brighton pressure eventually ended with Rutter bundling the ball past Alphonse Areola in the 91st minute.
On an afternoon where West Ham drew 1-1 against Brighton to move two points behind Nottingham Forest and Leeds United, it was Bowen who quietly overtook a club legend.

Jarrod Bowen surpasses Mark Noble’s Premier League record
West Ham are forever indebted to their captain for producing moments of brilliance, and his superbly hooked strike past Bart Verbruggen was the quality they needed.
Although it didn’t lead to the Irons securing all three points, the Englishman did surpass Hammers legend Mark Noble for Premier League away goals.
Noble scored 20 top-flight goals on his travels, while Bowen moved onto 21, with only Michail Antonio (36) netting more for the club.
Bowen was compared to Mohamed Salah by Slaven Bilic after his impressive performance against Manchester United, and his importance to the team mirrors that of prime Salah at Liverpool.
There have always been talks of Bowen leaving West Ham for a bigger Premier League club, although the 28-year-old loves it at the London Stadium and is crucial to their survival chances.

Bowen’s stats vs Brighton
It may come as a surprise to many that Bowen’s goal against Brighton was his first in the league since the end of September – a strike in the 1-1 draw at Everton.
The England international is by far Nuno’s most important player, not only just offering a goal threat in attack, but also carrying his team forward with lung bursting runs and pressing from the front.
| Jarrod Bowen’s stats vs Brighton |
| 90 minutes played |

Bowen was used as a focal point of West Ham’s attack at the AMEX and produced some impressive statistics, including five shots, four successful dribbles and five ground duels won.
On another day, Bowen’s goal would have been enough to win all three points, and hopefully, he can inspire the Irons to a shock victory over in-form Aston Villa.
