Declan Rice reacts to Divin Mubama goal for West Ham United on Twitter in Conference League win v FCSB

Declan Rice was thrilled for Divin Mubama after the young striker scored his first West Ham United goal in the Europa Conference League win over FCSB on Thursday night.

Mubama, 18, headed home in the 56th minute although replays suggest he may have that goal taken away from him as it took a big deflection off FCSB’s Joyskim Dawa.

However, it’ll be hard to convince the young Hammer that it wasn’t his goal and Rice took to his personal Twitter account instantly when the ball hit the back of the net to react.

During West Ham’s 3-0 win at the National Arena in Bucharest, Rice said: “Divinnnnnnn!!!!!! What a moment for him.

What a debut

We’re gutted that UEFA have officially taken that goal off Mubama.

His effort wasn’t on target, in fairness, with replays clearly showing that the teenager’s header was inadvertently guided into the net by the unaware Dawa.

However, it was a really promising debut from the England youth international, who West Ham fans are rightly excited about.

He’d never played for the senior side before the trip to Romania this week.

David Moyes opted to rest most of his senior stars – and rightly so – for the dead-rubber tie in Bucharest and that handed players like Mubama the chance to make a first-team debut.

And as far as auditions go, he impressed a lot.

Although that goal won’t be his, he did all the hard work and he was unfortunate to have not scored in the first half too.

We’re excited to see more of the centre-forward.

He’s definitely got a future at the London Stadium.
