Dean Ashton slaughters West Ham United star Kurt Zouma after incident v Arsenal on Sky Sports
Kurt Zouma was “totally switched off” as Bukayo Saka ran through on goal to win a penalty in the clash between West Ham and Arsenal.
The Gunners winger ran through late on in the first half of the meeting at the London Stadium after a long pass from Leandro Trossard.
Hammers goalkeeper Alphonse Areola then brought down Saka in the box, with the winger converting the penalty to put Arsenal 2-0 up, with the Gunners netting two more times before the half-time whistle.
“Trossard turns and plays the ball over the top, Emerson is just stood there, Saka has run inside,” Ashton said on Sky Sports News (2:44pm, 11 February). “Nayef Aguerd is actually out of position, he’s gone into midfield slightly.
“Zouma again is totally switched off to the situation, and then Areola just never looked comfortable when Saka went past him.”
West Ham blown away by Arsenal
Arsenal were in scintillating form at the London Stadium, with the visitors storming to a 4-0 lead after just 45 minutes.
The display from the Gunners completely blew away everyone inside the stadium, with home and away fans dismayed at what happened in the first half.
The Hammers defence have been resolute at times this season, with the back four and goalkeeper helping the club to a strong Premier League campaign so far.
But that certainly wasn’t the case when their London rivals came to town, with Mikel Arteta’s men completely ruthless in the final third.
But while the likes of Saka, Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli were on fire, the likes of Zouma, Aguerd, Emerson and Vladimir Coufal didn’t put up much of a fight.

David Moyes and his players have done a superb job against the Gunners in recent times, but the visitors were not to be toppled this time as they search for Premier League glory.
