David Moyes reaction spotted after West Ham United ‘sucker punch’ v Man United

Sky Sports journalist Ben Ransom has shared David Moyes’s reactions as Manchester United netted a second against West Ham.

The two clubs went head to head in a Premier League clash at Old Trafford on Sunday (4 February), with the hosts winning 3-0.

Hammers defender Emerson had a huge chance to level the scores early in the second half, but he fluffed his efforts, with Alejandro Garnacho scoring for the hosts moments later.

“David Moyes’ reaction says it all,” said Ransom, as per Sky Sports. “After Emerson’s miss, he bowed his head and stared at the turf before casting a steely glare towards the bench. He knew that was the chance they’d been waiting for.

“A minute later, he’s shaking his head and sitting back on the bench after the sucker punch. For all of their good play, it’s a long way back for West Ham now.”

Moyes rues West Ham misses

West Ham were by no means out of the game at any point, with the visitors registering a phenomenal 22 shots during the 90 minutes (Sky Sports, 4 February).

But shockingly, only three were on target, with the Red Devils much more clinical, with Garnacho netting a double after Rasmus Hojlund opened the scoring.

Amid all of their shots, a lot of the blame will fall on Emerson, with the defender unfortunate to be the one who not only missed a glorious chance, but a chance that would have levelled the scores.

West Ham

The Red Devils have now leapfrogged their opponents in the Premier League table, with the Manchester outfit now in sixth place, leaving the Hammers in seventh, with two points separating them.

Things do not get much easier for Moyes and his players next time out, with West Ham welcoming London rivals Arsenal to the London Stadium next Sunday (11 January).

In other West Ham news, the Hammers are now owed an apology after an “incomprehensible” transfer window development.
