David Moyes axes Kurt Zouma in three changes – West Ham United confirmed XI v Fulham
West Ham United manager David Moyes has made three changes to his Hammers’ starting XI for their showdown with Fulham.
The Scotsman has decided to axe Kurt Zouma, Aaron Cresswell and Tomas Soucek in favour of Nayef Aguerd, Edson Alvarez and the more attacking introduction of Danny Ings at the top end of the field.
It seems as though the Englishman will partner Michail Antonio in attack, with Jarrod Bowen also missing from the squad as he continues to make his recovery following an injury.
Will David Moyes be sacked at West Ham United?
While the scoreline didn’t flatter the Hammers against Bayer Leverkusen, Moyes’ side impressed defensively against Xabi Alonso’s side as they showed that grit and steel that has made them so hard to beat.
Hopefully, they will be more attacking against Marco Silva’s side on Sunday as they have the creative talent in their squad to be much more threatening, especially against those teams in and around them in the Premier League.
While injuries to the likes of Jarrod Bowen and other key stars at the London Stadium will have made things much harder for the Irons, there are plenty of players, and potentially the manager, who are fighting for their future.
A win against Fulham won’t define the Irons’ season, but they need to get back to winning ways after a disappointing showing in Europe last time out. If Moyes wants to be in Europe again, these are the games you simply have to win.
Whether or not West Ham have what it takes to get them over the line remains to be seen, but they still have plenty to play for between now and the end of the season.
