Dave Jones predicts West Ham United vs Manchester City result for Sky Sports
West Ham will suffer their first defeat of the Premier League season at the hands of Manchester City this week, predicts Dave Jones.
According to the Sky Sports host in his Super6 predictions on their website the treble winners will leave the London Stadium with a “relatively comfortable” 2-0 victory on Saturday (16 September) despite both sides starting the campaign “brilliantly”.
The two sides are among the five left unbeaten in the top flight so far, with City two points clear at the top of the table with a perfect four wins from four, while the Hammers have only dropped points in their opener at Bournemouth.

Jones said: “West Ham and Manchester City have started brilliantly, but I think the champions will extend their winning steak to five, with a relatively comfortable victory at the London Stadium.”
Challenge
Getting anything from a game against arguably the strongest side in world football at the moment is going to be a bonus.
But even Pep Guardiola’s all-conquering City side aren’t infallible so with David Moyes overseeing a much-improved start to the new season there will still be confidence going into this one.
West Ham produced an excellent 3-1 win over Chelsea in their only home game so far so more of the same would be very welcome.

If the Irons are beaten for the first time Moyes will have to hope it doesn’t spoil the momentum that has been built up so far, especially coming immediately after the international break.
City won this fixture 2-0 last season on the opening weekend, as a double on debut from Erling Haaland proved to be a sign of things to come from the Norwegian striker.
Moyes will expect to handle him better this time around as he is no longer dealing with an injury crisis in central defence, but still the Hammers will need to be at their best to spring an upset.
In other West Ham news, the club have been boosted by a pair of injury updates ahead of the game.
