Chris Wood news shared ahead of West Ham United clash v Nottingham Forest

Chris Wood could be among four Nottingham Forest players to miss out on starting against West Ham United in the Premier League, as per The Standard.

The outlet reported on its website [2 November] that the in-form striker is “struggling” to be fit in time to feature.

Nuno Espirito Santo told the media on 31 October that along with the Kiwi striker, Morgan Gibbs-White, Elliot Anderson and Jota Silva are doubts as the Hammers visit the City Ground on 2 November.

James Ward-Prowse, who is on loan at the Tricky Trees from the Irons, will also not feature in the game.

As for West Ham, Mohammed Kudus is suspended, while Niclas Fullkrug is still on the sidelines due to an injury.

West Ham must capitalise on Chris Wood absence for Nottingham Forest

The Hammers are coming off a nervy match against Manchester United in the league on 27 October, which saw Jarrod Bowen score a stoppage-time penalty to give Julen Lopetegui’s team a 2-1 win.

It was a much-needed victory for the Irons, with the Spanish manager under severe pressure after a poor start to the season.

West Ham have struggled under the former Wolves head coach, and fans have not seen the change they expected after the departure of David Moyes in the summer.

Now is the time for the team to pick up momentum and go on a winning run before coming up against one of the big boys.

Wood has been influential for Forest in the current campaign, having scored five goals in his last five appearances for the Tricky Trees in the league.

The Irons have an opportunity to take the three points back home from the City Ground, with Nuno missing some of his big hitters.
