Chris Sutton blasts West Ham United performance v Wolves live on BT Sport, calls out Lucas Paqueta
Chris Sutton has blasted West Ham for their performances this season and called out Lucas Paqueta individually after they were beaten by Wolves.
The Hammers fell into the relegation zone after they were beaten 1-0 at Molineux, leaving them still looking for their first win in the Premier League since October.
And speaking on BT Sport Score (14 January, 16:10), Sutton was quick to point out that the blame should fall on manager David Moyes mainly, but also called out record signing Paqueta for his poor showings.

“I think he [Moyes] has to take a lot of the responsibility,” he said.
“The issue is that last season we all thought the squad was light at West Ham, then they spent over £150m and that becomes an issue.
“They finished 7th last season in the Premier League. This year they are really, really underperforming.
“I don’t think he knows what his best side is. Defensively there are reasons for that because they couldn’t get a settled back line and they are playing with confidence.
“Paqueta has been a real disappointment.
“The irony is that if David Moyes does get the sack, the kind of manager you would want to come in and resurrect West Ham is David Moyes.”
Enough is enough
There was credit in the bank for Moyes because of his run in Europe, but he keeps doing the same things that haven’t been working for 12 months now and expecting different results.

Tomas Soucek should be nowhere near the starting lineup, Said Benrahma should be one of the first names on the team sheet, Aaron Cresswell should be fighting for his place and Alphonse Areola deserves a chance.
Yet Moyes persists with the opposite for them all, and now we are in the relegation zone, meaning we have undoubtedly gone backwards since last season.
We spent £170m in the summer and Paqueta has been poor, but his quality is clear and with a manager who plays football that suits him it is clear that he can shine in the Premier League.
Moyes has had his chance to sort this and he’s failed, it’s time to switch it up and look elsewhere before it’s too late.
