Charlie Nicholas predicts West Ham clash v Leicester City

Charlie Nicholas predicts goals between West Ham and Leicester City as they face off at the London Stadium on Monday night.

The former Sky Sports pundit, speaking on the Where’s Jeff? podcast [19/08/21], has also backed David Moyes to make an addition to his attacking options.

“I think this has got goals written all over it,” Nicholas said.

“I look at West Ham and see goals. What David Moyes has been building up, I see West Ham starting to do what he did with Everton. He’s slowly but surely building it up and introducing goals into the team, I think he’s still interested in getting [Jesse] Lingard or another [attacking midfielder] in.”

“I could see a 2-2 draw here but I think there’s guaranteed goals on Monday.”

Welcome home

West Ham will be able to host a capacity crowd on Monday as they welcome the Foxes to east London.

Both sides claimed all three points last weekend and head into the clash in a confident mood.

The Irons beat Newcastle United 4-2 at St James Park despite being behind twice on Tyneside, while Leicester eeked out a narrow 1-0 win over Wolves in the East Midlands.

Brendan Rodgers’ side were in the top four for the majority of last season before being dumped out at the final hurdle, but despite finishing one place above West Ham they still couldn’t beat Moyes and co.

The first future saw us run away with a sensational 3-0 victory before the reverse fixture in April saw us net three goals again, but the away side pull two late goals back.

Either of the previous two scorelines will do us here, while Nicholas’ prediction of 2-2 would surely be acceptable to most supporters as long as we witness an enthralling encounter.
