Axel Disasi dazzles on debut, 9/10 teammate even better – West Ham player ratings vs Burnley
West Ham cruised to a 2-0 win away to Burnley in a crucial relegation clash on Saturday.
Crysencio Summerville opened the scoring at Turf Moor after some excellent work from Mateus Fernandes in the 13th minute.
Taty Castellanos would double the score not long after, as Nuno Espirito Santo’s team set themselves on course for a much-needed win.
In the second half, it was less lively as the Hammers dug in to hold onto their 2-0 lead, likely due to letting one slip against Chelsea the previous week.
How Axel Disasi fared on his West Ham debut
Jean-Clair Todibo’s red card against Chelsea meant Axel Disasi had to be called upon immediately after signing.
With the Frenchman not playing a minute of first-team football since his Aston Villa loan last season, it was certainly a risk.
However, it was a necessary one, and the defender performed strongly on his first outing for the E20 outfit.
Throughout the match, Disasi made one block and four clearances and maintained a 96% passing accuracy in what was a composed performance at the back.
In truth, West Ham were not troubled too much by the home side, but Disasi did not look like he had lacked minutes.
Promising signs for the new signing after just one game for the club.
Mateus Fernandes was the star of the show at Turf Moor
Fernandes is quickly proving himself to be an exceptional player and one of West Ham’s best signings of the summer.
The Portuguese midfielder got himself the assist for the opener, but it was the rest of his performance that truly made him stand out.

The 21-year-old got himself around the park throughout the game and was always getting stuck into the action.
This was proved by the midfielder completing more passes than anyone else and being a part of 13 duels, in which he won seven.
