Ally McCoist wowed by Jarrod Bowen before ‘Outstanding’ moment in West Ham United v Tottenham

Ally McCoist was impressed with Jarrod Bowen’s work down the right flank before Guglielmo Vicario pulled off an “outstanding” save in West Ham versus Tottenham.

With the two London clubs meeting at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday 19 October, both had early chances to open the scoring, though the Spurs goalkeeper kept the Hammers at bay.

Following some fine work by the captain down the right wing, he fired a ball across the box for Mohammed Kudus to strike but Vicario was equal to it, a save with Darren Fletcher dubbed “outstanding”.

Speaking live via TNT Sports on Saturday (19 October, 12:41pm), McCoist said: “It’s great work down the right-hand side from Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Bowen, who fires a lovely cut-back into an area.

“He’s looking for the wide player to attack, which Kudus duly obliges, but it’s a good save.”

Jarrod Bowen continues to impress in West Ham United v Tottenham

Luckily for Kudus and Bowen, the pair got a similar chance to finally open the scoring and put the Hammers 1-0 up despite Spurs’ overall dominance.

For all of Kudus’ quality, he has only bagged twice in the Premier League so far, struggling to get out of second gear under Julen Lopetegui, even clashing with the manager before the international break.

However, it has been a slow start for the entire team, with Bowen also struggling to impress in some games, but both look to be on fine form at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Considering the talent in Spurs’ attack, though, Lopetegui will be hoping for more goals to hit the back of the net before Ange Postecoglou’s take control of the match.

With another big clash against Manchester United coming up, it is hugely important that the West Ham stars are firing on all cylinders. Bowen and Kudus certainly are.
