Alan Shearer fumes as footage emerges from West Ham United Premier League defeat v Newcastle
Alan Shearer has slammed West Ham for conceding easy goals to Newcastle en route to a 5-1 mauling at the London Stadium on Wednesday.
Despite being a Magpies fan, he was left annoyed at the defending and passages of play, especially the one that led to Aleksander Isak’s goal.
Both Fabianksi and the Swedish striker watched the ball go into the back of the net at how easy it was to add to the Hammers’ misery on the day.
Shearer said at 22:16 on 5 April on Premier League Productions, “This is embarrassing. Comical and shambolic way of conceding such goals. Fans would’ve been so angry looking at this performance.”
How long can this go on?
Just because West Ham are in the latter stages of a European competition that doesn’t mean they’re exempted from showing up in the Premier League.
Getting relegated will have dire consequences that will far outweigh the joys of winning a European cup.
Moyes has seemed out of his depth for a few months now and the only reason he’s managing to get wins in the Conference League is due to the quality of the opposition.

In a league where anyone can beat anyone, his frailties are being exposed and that’s not a good look for anyone.
Relegation will affect the club owners more than the players who can just look for a transfer in the summer but it’s the hierarchy that bears the financial brunt.
It remains to be seen how long this circus continues but West Ham are digging themselves a deeper hole by not sacking Moyes.
