Aaron Wan-Bissaka steals the show as 4/10 teammate dismal – West Ham player ratings vs Chelsea
West Ham will be severely disappointed after the 3-2 loss against Chelsea on Saturday.
The Hammers took the lead in the first 10 minutes, with Jarrod Bowen’s strike bringing joy to the visiting supporters.
Crysencio Summerville doubled their lead after 36 minutes, with a stunning long-range effort that left Robert Sanchez with no chance.
However, the Hammers capitulated after the break, and ended up going home with no points, after having all three within their grasp.
It all kicked off at the end, and Jean-Clair Tobido was sent off for violent conduct after a fracas for grabbing Joao Pedro by the neck.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka despite West Ham loss
Aaron Wan-Bissaka stole the show, especially in the first half of the contest.
The 28-year-old right-back notched two assists and made 11 passes into the final third at Stamford Bridge, per Sofascore.
He even had two touches in the opposition box, in an enterprising attacking performance that nearly took all three points for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.
Defensively, the DR Congo international made six clearances, three recoveries and one interception as the hosts pushed to get back in the game and then for a winner after they had levelled proceedings.

In terms of duels, he won all four that he attempted on the ground and one of the two that he contested in the air, for 100 and 50 per cent success rates.
It was a shame how the game ended after the Irons took a comfortable lead, but Wan-Bissaka can hold his head up high.
Tomas Soucek struggles against Chelsea
Tomas Soucek is usually a reliable figure in the middle of the park for the Irons.
That was not the case against the Blues though, as he struggled to influence the contest at either end.
The Czech midfielder completed 17 of his 26 pass attempts for a 65 per cent success rate, and did not create a single chance, and had just 36 touches.
Defensively, was where he was even more disappointing, with just two clearances in the entire match, although he did make five recoveries.
He won one of the four ground duels that he contested for a 25 per cent success rate, in an under-par showing from the veteran.
The most egregious thing that he did though, was not get close enough to Moises Caicedo in the build-up to the eventual winner.
The E20 outfit needed the veteran to step up and held them keep the point, and he did not on this occasion.
