West Ham danced their way to victory against Wrexham as Kyle Walker-Peters stood among the best performers.

The 6-0 win was a real showing of intent from the Hammers, who have begun to show more fight in their push for promotion this season.

The victory included the first time the Irons had six different scorers in one single league match.

With Walker-Peters having a hand in two of the goals on the night at London Stadium.

His display was another positive sign for Nuno Espirito Santo as he looks to get the best out of his squad.

But it seems that was still not enough to be rated as one of the best over the weekend, despite him thoroughly deserving that recognition.

Why Kyle Walker-Peters deserved Championship TOTW spot

The Championship have announced their latest team of the week selection, and after the 6-0 win against Wrexham, it comes as no surprise to see three Hammers present.

Jarrod Bowen, Manor Solomon, and Taty Castellanos have all made the cut, but Walker-Peters should also have been selected.

The Englishman, while he did not start against the Welsh side on Friday night, did play 60 minutes of the 90.

Walker-Peters would go on to have quite the meaningful impact as well, grabbing himself two assists on the night.

Defensively, he also won 100 per cent of all his duels, while he misplaced just two passes according to Sofascore.

It was an exceptional performance, with Walker-Peters rated as one of West Ham's best against Wrexham.

While the Championship team of the week is a trivial selection, the fullback would certainly like his efforts to be more widely recognised, alongside his other teammates.

How competition is breeding success for Walker-Peters

Walker-Peters has found himself on the bench at times this season, and even when he has started, he has been hooked off early.

Perhaps the competition he has had from Joel Veltman is beginning to make the Englishman push harder for his place.

Unfortunately, though, Walker-Peters arrival onto the pitch on Friday was a result of the Dutchman going off injured.

Veltman's injury is continuing to be assessed, but if he is unfit to feature in the coming days, it is a chance for Walker-Peters to truly stake his place within the squad.

With the next fixture against Premier League opposition Fulham another proper test for the defender.
