West Ham player ratings vs Wrexham: Jarrod Bowen makes it look easy as 5/10 teammate not at it
Nuno Espirito Santo made five changes from the side that secured a dramatic 3-2 win over Bolton Wanderers last time out.
Morato made his first start, while Taty Castellanos, Joel Piroe, Joel Veltman and Manor Solomon returned to the starting line-up at the London Stadium.
Pablo, Ollie Scarles, Mohamadou Kante, Kyle Walker-Peters and Edvin Austbo all had to settle for a place on the bench.
Jarrod Bowen opened the scoring, Piroe doubled the lead for the hosts in the first half, and second-half strikes from Konstantinos Mavropanos, Castellanos, Kante and Solomon had the Irons in dreamland.
The result takes the Hammers to the Championship summit, with West Brom playing on Saturday.
Jarrod Bowen shows up again for West Ham
Bowen will be the man that the Hammers rely on this season, as he is a proven contributor in the Premier League.
He has taken a couple of weeks to get going but he is now on fine form in the second tier, and making it look easy.
He scored the first goal, with a lovely run across the Wrexham defender and then slotting the ball home.
He was dangerous throughout despite having 40 touches, with four shots and five chances created for his teammates, per FotMob data.
It was his cross which allowed Mavropanos to head home and essentially seal the result, as he also added an assist.
Bowen also helped out defensively, with one tackle, two interceptions and seven recoveries.
If he continues to rip up the division like that, then promotion will surely be a doddle for the Irons.
Arne Engels does not impress in West Ham win
Arne Engels arrived at West Ham in a Championship record £22million deal.
However, he was average in the victory over the Welsh outfit, was not at it, and did not live up to the fee.
The former Celtic man had 64 touches, and while he did complete 94 per cent of his passes, he only created one chance.
He made four passes into the final third, but completed one of three cross attempts for a 33 per cent success rate.
Defensively, he completed only two clearances, one of which was with his head and one tackle.
In terms of duels, he won two of the three that he tried on the ground, but lost all five of the aerial battles that he contested in the contest.
He needs to create more and help out defensively if he is to be worth that price tag.
