Kyle Walker-Peters was one of several standout performers as West Ham United battered Wrexham on Friday.

The Hammers routed the Welsh outfit 6-0 at London Stadium, to go top of the Championship before Saturday's games.

Nuno Espirito Santo's men have now racked up four straight league wins, while there were six different goalscorers against Wrexham.

Jarrod Bowen and Joel Piroe put the hosts into a 2-0 half-time lead, while Konstantinos Mavropanos netted early after the break.

Taty Castellanos, Mahamadou Kante, and Manor Solomon completed the rout on a memorable outing for West Ham.

But Walker-Peters also caught the eye during West Ham's empathic victory, putting in a fine performance from right-back.

Walker-Peters did not start the game on Friday, but entered the fray after half an hour for Joel Veltman.

The full-back made a big impact when he came on, though, finishing the game with two assists.

The first of those was a wonderful counter-attacking goal led by Walker-Peters from his own half, before setting up Castellanos.

His work in the build-up to the goal really caught the eye of BBC Radio London pundit Bradley Allen who was wowed by what he saw.

He said: "What a brilliant goal! A tremendous counter. Kyle Walker-Peters, take a bow - from one end of the pitch to the other.

"That's one of the best Championship goals of the season. Absolutely outstanding."

But that was not the only thing Walker-Peters did to catch Allen's eye in the game.

With the clock winding down, and Wrexham spirits on the floor, Walker-Peters marauded forward down the right once more.

He then picked out Solomon, who bent in his second goal for the Hammers since joining from Tottenham.

Reacting to what Walker-Peters did, Allen said: "Again the surging and driving run from Kyle Walker-Peters was outstanding.

"The shot from Manor Solomon turning away from goal was outstanding, I think (Anthony) Patterson got a fingertip to it. I'm delighted for Solomon."

All in all it was a wonderful night in general for West Ham, and Walker-Peters certainly made his mark on the contest.

West Ham are riding the crest of a wave right now, but Nuno will be desperate to ensure his side keep their momentum.

There will soon be an extended international break, but before then West Ham have the Carabao Cup tie with Fulham and the mouth-watering derby at rivals Millwall on 19 September.

Taking another three points heading into the international break would be especially sweet for Hammers supporters.
