Nuno Espirito Santo has named his West Ham United starting XI to face Queens Park Rangers on Friday.

The London Stadium is set to be packed out as an extended international break finally comes to an end.

A three week absence from Championship action at least allowed for certain players to get rest or increased training in respectively.

That will all come to a head as the R's travel across the capital off the back of three consecutive draws.

The Hammers will be keen to get back to winning ways after a draw of their own last time out away to Millwall.

Nuno has named his side with that in mind, but what does that mean for Edson Alvarez?

Who is starting for West Ham vs QPR?

The points were shared in the Dockers' Derby as Konstantinos Mavropanos netted a second half equaliser.

Mohamadou Kante had a telling impact off the bench, but his cynical red card means he can't feature here.

That has seen the Irons name a very familiar starting XI this time around.

Mads Hermansen starts once again and is unsurprisingly joined by Mavropanos and Max Kilman.

Morato and Kyle Walker-Peters have also kept their places.

The only change of the evening comes in midfield as Tomas Soucek comes in from the start, in place of Joel Piroe, alongside Arne Engels and Divine Mukasa.

It is the wide areas that stay the same as both Jarrod Bowen and Manor Solomon remain in the side.

The same can be said for the forward line as Taty Castellanos has once again been given the nod.

That side isn't a shock, but many had expected to see Alvarez return after the international break.

What is happening with Alvarez at West Ham?

There has been so much uncertainty surrounding the defensive midfielder this campaign.

He started the season opener against Portsmouth in the Carabao Cup, and hasn't been seen since.

That culminated in him missing out on international duty with Mexico in the extended break.

Many believed that a spell with no games would give him chance to prove what he can add to this Hammers squad.

Instead, Nuno has opted against featuring him at all in his matchday squad against QPR.

Fans will be frustrated that Alvarez hasn't proven his worth, while the midfielder himself will also be growing further annoyed with the terrible situation he finds himself in.
