Jarrod Bowen changed the game for West Ham United against Bolton Wanderers on Tuesday.

The Hammers took an early lead at the Toughsheet Community Stadium on 8 September through the England international.

Nuno Espirito Santo's team then found themselves behind by the 27th minute after Ethan Erhahon and Ruben Rodrigues found the back of the net - the latter from the penalty spot.

Konstantinos Mavropanos equalised for West Ham before the break and Bowen then scored the winner in the 77th minute.

The Irons won 3-2 and grabbed three valuable points to temporarily take top spot in the Championship table.

With the East London club aiming for automatic promotion to the Premier League, the 29-year-old has shown why he will be the most influential figure in E20 to achieve that goal.

West Ham are lucky to still have Bowen at the club after relegation from the Premier League.

The Englishman showed why he belongs in the top flight, recording two key passes and completing two successful dribbles, as per Sofascore.

Apart from the winger's two goals, he had 62 touches in the game, was fouled once and recorded four progressive carries.

At one point, Bowen had possession near the opposition corner and dribbled past a couple of players before creating an opportunity.

The England international could've scored a hat-trick had it not been for the intervention of Josh Sheehan.

Speaking on Sky Sports Football, co-commentator Dave Edwards said: "Bowen just brings that little bit of quality to take the game away from Bolton. Terrific finish for the first one.

"A little bit lucky with the second, but so efficient with the ball. If West Ham are going to get promoted, he's going to be a big part of it."

What Nuno Espirito Santo still needs to figure out at London Stadium

West Ham are definitely clicking up front, scoring 14 goals in their first six Championship matches.

Bowen, Taty Castellanos and Joel Piroe will certainly contribute to most good things going forward for the Hammers.

What fans in E20 will worry about is the team's defensive frailties, having conceded nine goals in the league so far.

The Irons have kept just one clean sheet so far, which came in the 3-0 win over Derby County at London Stadium.

Apart from Mavropanos, none of the other defenders have really been consistent enough for the East London club.

With Morato coming in, hopefully Nuno has something up his sleeve to stop the Hammers from conceding so many goals.
