Three West Ham questions to emerge over past seven days include Bowen and Solomon impact

West Ham United supporters are in a jubliant mood right now.

The gloom of Premier League relegation obviously still lingers heavily in the background.

But the Hammers have found some real momentum, winng four straight Championship games.

The latest of those was the 6-0 battering of Wrexham, which took West Ham to top of the table.

Six different players were on the scoresheet, with Jarrod Bowen, Joel Piroe, Konstantinos Mavropanos, Taty Castellanos, Mohamadou Kante, and Manor Solomon all on target.

Another big week is on the horizon, including the huge derby with Millwall, but before that here are three questions to have emerged from the past seven days at West Ham.

Are West Ham the team to beat in the Championship?

The Hammers made a sluggish start to their league campaign, failing to win any of their opening three games.

Since then, though, West Ham have scored 16 goals in their past four league outings and are absolutely flying.

They have the Carabao Cup tie with Fulham on Tuesday, then a mouth-watering derby with Millwall on Saturday before the lengthy international break.

It might feel too early to make any bold predictions, but are West Ham now the team to beat in the Championship?

If they can maintain the score of goalscoring form they have in the past couple of weeks, then it is hard to argue against it.

Where does Jarrod Bowen rank in the all-time West Ham greats?

Bowen is always going to have a special place in the hearts of West Ham supporters.

That is especially the case after he opted to remain at the London Stadium to aid the bid to return to the Premier League, rather than force a move elsewhere.

Bowen already has six goals in all competitions this season, netting three times this week in the wins over Bolton and Wrexham.

Does he now deserve to be acknowledged in the top three? There is healthy competition with the likes of Bobby Moore, Billy Bonds, Trevor Brook, and Paolo Di Canio - to name but a few.

But Bowen surely belongs in that esteemed company, and if he does fire West Ham back to the top flight it is hard to argue he shouldn't be in the top three at least.

Has Manor Solomon just announced himself as a key player?

West Ham's left-hand side has been a topic of debate, with new boy Edvin Austbo earning plaudits for his early performances.

But Solomon will have something to say about it, and the 27-year-old is a proven performer at this level.

Against Wrexham, Solomon finished with an assist and a goal - his first at the London Stadium.

The former Tottenham Hotspur winger feels like he could be a very important player in the push for promotion.

His performance against Wrexham felt like a real marker, and hopefully there is more to come.
