Jamie O'Hara and West Ham supporters have a complicated relationship.

The 40-year-old, who now works on talkSPORT alongside Jason Cundy is a former Tottenham player, which does not help his case.

He also regularly tries to wind up Hammers supporters with his opinions on their club.

While often it is banter, he is not held in the finest favour by those with a claret and blue persuasion.

However, he was nowhere to be seen as Tomas Soucek's double helped the Irons to a 6-0 win over Lincoln on Wednesday.

What was said about Jamie O'Hara's absence after West Ham victory?

After his absence from the platform on Wednesday evening, it led to a Hammers fan ringing up and questioning his whereabouts.

Towards the end of the show, an Irons fan called The Sports Bar and said: “Do you remember a few months ago, O’Hara said ‘look forward to Lincoln away’.

"Where is he tonight, is he sick?”

Cundy responded, hitting back to defend his usual co-host, saying: “No he’s not sick, people don’t take time off just because of results in football.

“You guys are nuts.”

How West Ham can shut O'Hara up for the next few weeks

West Ham could keep O'Hara silent if they just keep winning and winning.

They face Championship leaders Swansea City next, before another tough clash with Southampton, who will be hoping to be up there at the end of the season.

West Brom are another side who hope to be in the mix, and they are Nuno Espirito Santo's side's opponents on 31 October.

Then it is Cardiff City and Blackburn Rovers, who the E20 side should overcome easily.

If they can win all five of those matches, it will shut O'Hara right up, and he will not be able to fire away his typical banter.

They could rise to the top of the second tier and look like firm promotion candidates if they take the full 15 points available from their next five.

Whether it is a realistic outcome, that remains to be seen, but Nuno will have full faith that his side can do it.

The promotion chase is the main motivation, but keeping O'Hara quiet should also fire up the squad.
