EFL content creators Callum Fowler and Tom Garratt got into an animated discussion over West Ham United's promotion chances.

The Hammers have only lost once in the Championship season, that coming at home to Charlton Athletic back in August.

Last time out, the Hammers ran out 1-0 victors at table-toppers Swansea City, with Divine Mukasa grabbing the only goal of the game.

Consequently, Nuno Espirito Santo's side moved within one point of the Swans, and sit second in the standings.

Moreover, the Hammers have score 30 Championship goals this season, eight more than the second best in Middlesbrough.

However, West Brom fan Garatt is not entirely convinced, and sparked a lively debate with Barnsley supporter Fowler.

What did Tom Garratt say about West Ham's promotion chances?

Despite their high standing in the table, West Ham have had their detractors at times this season.

Garratt is seemingly among them, as he questioned whether the Irons can maintain their current form.

The content creator and podcaster aired his opinion on The Pyramid Podcast, stating he does not believe West Ham can keep getting the results they are.

Fowler strongly disagreed, and expects Nuno's men to end the season well clear at the top of the Championship.

The conversation started with Fowler stating West Ham will win the league, and Garratt retorting they should have lost to Swansea, with his co-host saying "but they didn't".

The chat then got increasingly animated, with Garratt saying: "I understand that, I keep getting West Ham fans telling me I hate them, I don't I actually really like West Ham as a club.

"I understand West Ham have got so much quality but I can't not say what I feel when I watch them they haven't been good. That can't last, they can't keep getting away with it."

Fowler replied: "They can with those players. It can. Like Wolves, don't get me wrong Wolves have got very good players like Fer Lopez for example. West Ham have got a Fer Lopez in every position.

Garratt then claimed West Ham are an injury to Konstantinos Mavropanos away from struggling, to which Fowler said: "They'll finish 10 points above second.

The chat continue with Garratt saying "they got outplayed", and Fowler retorting "and won".

The conversation wound up with Garratt saying "you're making out like it's Cardiff and Man City", and Fowler hitting back: "No I'm not, I'm making out it's West Ham and rest of Championship. They've got the best team by a mile."

West Ham find a way again

Did West Ham have to endure some nervy times at Swansea? Of course they did!

It's football. Championship football at that. The league where famously "anyone can beat anyone".

So, to go away to the league leaders, who had lost just once in the league all season, and get a win is a fantastic result however you arrive at it.

Did anyone really expect Nuno's men to rock up, have a stroll around the park, claim an easy three points, then head back home?

No. And if anyone did then their expectation levels are all over the place.

Ultimately, in this league, you find a way to win. Which West Ham did.
