Swansea City and West Ham United fought tooth and nail in their top-of-the-table Championship clash on Saturday.

The Hammers fought their way to a 1-0 victory in Wales, courtesy of a Divine Mukasa finish in the first half.

The Irons have lifted into second in the Championship, one point off the Swans who currently sit top of the division.

Nuno Espirito Santo will have been watching on anxiously after the game started in an aggressive manner due to a minute's silence being controversially interrupted at the Swansea.com Stadium.

There were plenty of other controversial moments in the game, including Mohamadou Kante's positioning for Mukasa's goal, as some suggested the Frenchman was offside.

However, one of the more nail-biting moments in the match was when Ben Cabango hit the underside of the bar for Swansea, as West Ham protested the ball never crossed the line.

Swansea vs West Ham moment that BBC pundit 'never seen' before

It's fair to say that Swansea were one of the most impressive sides that West Ham have come up against so far.

That said, the Hammers had several big opportunities to put the game to bed in the second 45, but Lawrence Vigouroux stood strong.

Cabango came close to levelling the game for the hosts before the break, as his right-footed effort just stayed out, as highlighted by goal-line technology.

While speaking on BBC Sports Radio London, Jamal Fyfield couldn't help contain his excitement at the incident.

Fyfield said: "The crossbar's still rattling; I've never seen so many bodies in behind the ball trying to clear, but West Ham live to fight another day. Wow."

Cabango had an xG of 0.48 for the shot, but West Ham were able to get the ball clear and take the lead into the break.

Nuno's side then came on stronger in the second 45, and were unlucky not to have extended their lead.

How West Ham have inflicted double Swansea blow

Swansea's bubble has been burst by West Ham, with the Hammers making a statement win in Wales.

It was only Vitor Matos' second loss of the Championship season, with the other coming to Southampton.

What this proves is that Swansea have lost to the only two real automatic promotion contenders they've faced this season, and are yet to play against Wolves, Middlesbrough or Birmingham City.

The difficult fixtures will soon come for the Swans, but for the Hammers, the games don't get any easier for them either.
