West Ham United: £17.2m Ruben Amorim clause emerges in new manager update
West Ham United must pay a £17.2million release clause to Sporting Lisbon if they want to secure the services of manager Ruben Amorim, according to O Jogo.
The Portuguese newspaper reported in its print edition (23 April, pg 12) that Sporting will not let their in-demand manager go without a "fight", as West Ham held talks in London this week.
David Moyes is under increasing pressure to leave the club after a poor spell of Premier League form, with those calls heightened by the 5-2 thrashing at Crystal Palace on 21 April.

West Ham, unlike Liverpool, are not officially in the hunt for Amorim or any new manager at present, with Moyes still in post for the time and seemingly no announcement coming from the club regarding the Scotsman's immediate future.
However, if Moyes, who is out of contract at the end of the season, is moved on from the London Stadium, bringing Amorim in as his replacement could help take West Ham to a new level altogether.
Back-to-back Premier League defeats, either side of being dumped out of the Europa League by Bayer Leverkusen, have hit hopes of European football in tatters, and if Moyes fails to guarantee a fourth successive campaign on the continent, hiring Amorim would be one hell of a statement from West Ham's board.
Liverpool had earmarked the former Portugal international soon after Jurgen Klopp announced he was stepping down at the end of the season, so this would be a real statement move from the club.
