What games Tomas Soucek will miss as Keith Hackett reveals huge FA ban for West Ham star
Tomas Soucek was sent off as West Ham fell to defeat against Tottenham.
Spurs travelled to the London Stadium on Saturday and were easily able to secure victory over West Ham, as Tottenham won 3-0.
This didn’t necessarily come as a surprise for Graham Potter’s side, especially when Cristian Romero’s opener was disallowed in West Ham’s favour.
With that being said, the Irons were ultimately let down by the Czechia international, as Soucek made what Paul Robinson described as a “horrible” challenge and was shown a straight red.
Now, the Hammers will have to consider how long Soucek could be out for as Keith Hackett speaks out on a potential ban for the midfielder.

This article contains exclusive comments from former PGMOL chief Keith Hackett.
Keith Hackett speculates Tomas Soucek ban
It is fair to say that the last thing the Hammers needed was further complication to their already frustrating midfield issues.
West Ham’s 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest seemingly pointed to those worries being fixed with the addition of Mateus Fernandes, but that wasn’t the case against the Lilywhites.
As a result, the game took a turn when Soucek was sent off and could be set to leave a hole in the side for upcoming clashes.
This comes after former referee Hackett shared his belief that the Hammers midfielder will be absent for three games after a straight red card.
Speaking exclusively to West Ham Zone, Hackett said: “This was a clear Serious Foul Play challenge which endangered the safety of his opponent.
“Correct decision by Regeree Gillett to show the player a red card, which will lead to a three-match ban.“
What matches will Tomas Soucek miss for West Ham?
The 30-year-old has represented a consistent figure for the E20 club in what has been a difficult few months under both Potter and Julen Lopetegui.
As a result, it will be a blow to be without him for three fixtures or potentially more, something which could see him be absent until 20 October.
The Hammers will welcome Brentford to the London Stadium on that date, which could represent the Czech midfielder’s return.
Date | Opponent | Venue |
20/09/25 | Crystal Palace (H) | London Stadium |
29/09/25 | Everton (A) | Hill Dickinson Stadium |
04/10/25 | Arsenal (A) | Emirates Stadium |
Before then, Soucek looks set to miss Premier League outings against Crystal Palace, Everton and Arsenal off the back of this red card.
It will be interesting to see who comes in for the ex-Slavia Prague man and whether that improves or hampers the Hammers moving forward.
