West Ham United v Brentford: Doctor issues Lucas Paqueta injury update
West Ham midfielder Lucas Paqueta may be ready for a late fitness test v Brentford, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that his current setback is on his lower leg and calf complex and that he went to Spain for further rehabilitation and that’s something sanctioned by the club.
The Hammers play host to Brentford on Monday, 26 February, an important game for David Moyes who’s under immense sack pressure at the London Stadium.
Speaking exclusively with West Ham Zone, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and a Sports Scientist, said:
“This injury looks to involve his lower leg and calf complex.
“It sounds like his going to Spain is in collaboration with West Ham.
“He has been on the grass recently so he looks to be closing in on returning to the first team.
“If he passes a late fitness test, he will be in contention to play but until then he still is a doubt for the next game.“
West Ham and David Moyes have direly missed Lucas Paqueta
The Brazil international appeared to be on his way out in the summer when Manchester City came calling.
However, he ended up staying put at the London Stadium and that has not impacted his influence in the first team.
If anything, he’s managed to take his game to the next level, playing on the left wing for Moyes’ side.

It remains to be seen where he features once he’s back from his injury as they have looked threadbare in midfield as well.
In other West Ham news, a manager with a 69 per cent Europa League win record is eyed to replace David Moyes at the London Stadium.
