West Ham United transfer news as update emerges on Celtic ace Cameron Carter-Vickers
Celtic defender Cameron Carter-Vickers is expected to pass his medical at West Ham if the transfer progresses, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that his hamstring setback this past season was merely a Grade 1 and he did play the majority of the campaign after it.
This comes after it’s understood that the Hammers, along with Ipswich Town and Fulham are keen on signing the 26-year-old United States international. [HITC]
Speaking exclusively with West Ham Zone, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and a Sports Scientist, said:
“He had concerns with his hamstring this past season and that’s something that would’ve shown up in the pre-transfer checks.
“Based on the timeline, these look like grade 1 hamstring injuries so I don’t reckon they would cause any issues with his medical.
“He did manage to play the majority of the season and is in his mid-20s so these are all positives for the club signing him.
West Ham may have better options than Celtic ace Carter-Vickers
The Hammers are considering the United States international amid his stellar performances at Celtic but that does not mean they are not considering other options.
Under Julen Lopetegui, they are aiming to strengthen their defence, which was one of the weakest in the Premier League last season.
Carter-Vickers, despite his success in Scotland, has not yet proven himself in the top flight of English football.

Thus, while he is a viable option, the club are likely to explore more established Premier League or top five European leagues’ defenders before finalising any deal.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers want to secure the transfer of a player who’s set to leave Tottenham Hotspur this month.
