West Ham United to make behind-the-scenes change as Wesley Gassova bid made
West Ham are likely to implement a new training routine to help Wesley Gassova adapt to life in the Premier League, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that as the Corinthians forward has not played outside Brazil yet, it will take time for him to get used to the rigours of the top flight.
Foot Mercato journalist Sebastian Denis revealed on 3 July that the 19-year-old is likened to Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappe in Brazil and that the Hammers have made an offer for him.
Speaking exclusively with West Ham Zone, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and a Sports Scientist, said:
“He is a teenager who’s never played in Europe, let alone the Premier League, so it will take him a while to adapt.
“They will need to implement a detailed and methodical strength and conditioning routine along with a methodical training to game routine and it’s highly likely they take this approach.
“It’s all about allowing a gradual adaptation, mentally and physically.“
Wesley Gassova transfer may be a risk for West Ham
Signing Gassova is a risk for the Hammers due to his lack of experience in Europe.
The 19-year-old winger has only played in the Brazilian league and may struggle to adapt to the Premier League’s physicality and pace.
Additionally, the language barrier and cultural differences could hinder his integration into the team.

There’s also the risk of him not being able to handle the pressure of playing in a top European league so it makes sense to let him go to a lesser league to see if he’s ready.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers want to sign a £21m-rated international striker and opening bids have already been made for him.
