West Ham United star Jarrod Bowen predicted to come back from England duty ‘rejuvenated’
We’re delighted to welcome former West Ham United striker Frank McAvennie as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at the London Stadium…
Frank McAvennie believes Jarrod Bowen will return to West Ham “rejuvenated” following the international break.
Bowen was called up by England manager Gareth Southgate for the nation’s two matches in the most recent round of fixtures.
The winger played the entire 90 minutes as the Three Lions defeated Australia 1-0 in a friendly on Friday (13 October).

The Hammers ace was then left on the bench by Southgate as England beat Italy 3-1 in a Euro 2024 qualifier on Tuesday (17 October) to qualify for the tournament finals.
McAvennie is now predicting Bowen to come back “refreshed” for David Moyes when the Hammers take on Aston Villa on Sunday (22 October).
The pundit believes the manager will have already chosen his team for the Premier League clash at Villa Park, with Moyes set to adjust that if necessary if any of his players have sustained issues for their respective nations.

Speaking to West Ham Zone, McAvennie said: “Of course the international players will come back in, they’ve not been away very far. They’ve been training for their respective countries, so Moyes will just assess the injuries.
“He will know his team for the weekend, and if they come back fit, then that’s who he will play, and he will adjust accordingly if there are any injuries.
“But he’ll have a game plan, and he’ll have been working all this week with the players who are still there to counteract whatever Villa throw at them. It was great to see Bowen getting a game for England, he’ll come back rejuvenated and refreshed.”
In other West Ham news, the Hammers are in the hunt to sign one Bundesliga ace, with £35million needed to seal the transfer.
