We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at West Ham...
West Ham defender Kurt Zouma could have been out for weeks if his knee injury was a serious one, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert is basing this on claims that the Frenchman was a doubt for the Nottingham Forest game on Sunday, 12 November.
However, not only did he start the game, but he also managed to play the full 90 minutes, showing no signs of a minor knee injury.
Speaking exclusively with West Ham Zone, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said:
“Difficult to say on grade – sounds like he underwent further imaging and then the club decided on full severity.
“The fact that he played on the weekend suggests it wasn’t serious and it could’ve been one where he could’ve been out for weeks.“
Zouma has been a mainstay at the heart of the Hammers defence this season and has been one of David Moyes’ best signings at the London Stadium.
He’s proven to be a threat in both boxes and has formed an impeccable understanding in defence with Nayef Aguerd.
Last season, he played 25 league games and this season he’s already made 11 starts in 12 Premier League matches for the London club.
In other West Ham news, a BBC pundit has admitted that he’ll come out of retirement just to play with a West Ham star after what he did recently.
