‘West Ham to pay £35m to seal Hermansen transfer’ after latest updates – Exclusive
Leicester star Mads Hermansen could be West Ham’s new goalkeeper next season.
Graham Potter‘s side shipped a total of 62 goals last season, which was the sixth-worst tally in the Premier League.
As a result, David Sullivan and Co are on the lookout for reinforcements in the defensive area of the pitch, including between the sticks.
Both Lukasz Fabianski and Alphonse Areola failed to convince last season, while the former has departed, the latter is still around, but whether he will be number one for the new campaign is questionable.

West Ham to accelerate Hermansen pursuit
Hermansen has been on West Ham’s radar for a considerable period, and they could revive that interest this summer.
The young keeper is rated around the £35million mark [GiveMeSport] and the Hammers will face competition from the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United.
Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reported (28 June) that the London Stadium outfit really likes the 24-year-old.
Iconic commentator Ian Darke believes that the Irons could accelerate their plans to sign the Foxes star as rival clubs enter the race for his signature.
Speaking exclusively to West Ham Zone, he said: “Good goalkeeper, I thought he played well behind a really, really shaky defence who looked like conceding goals almost every time they were attacked.
“That would have been a pretty scary experience, I would have thought for a goalkeeper, but he pulled off a load of big saves, didn’t he.
“You look sometimes at a club that goes down and think a lot of the players let the club down, but I think he emerged with quite a bit of credit from it all.
“£35m sounds on the steep side if that figure is right, but if the Hammers think he is their man and there are others sniffing around, it would be worth it to push it over the line.”

Hermansen would be brilliant addition for West Ham
Hermansen was one of the most promising goalkeepers in the Premier League, and not even Alisson Becker could have papered over the Foxes’ defensive cracks last season.
Stats (Premier League) | Hermansen |
Matches | 27 |
Goals conceded | 58 |
Clean sheets | 1 |
Pass accuracy | 56.2% |
The East London outfit would need to strengthen their defence as well as bring in a top-class keeper, but the Dane would inspire more confidence than Areola between the sticks.
It remains to be seen whether they can secure a deal, with other clubs potentially in the mix, but they should pull out all the stops to secure him.
