West Ham desperate as Emi Martinez transfer reveal emerges at Aston Villa
Emi Martinez could emerge as a target for West Ham, with a possible exit from Aston Villa already being lined up.
The Hammers are in desperate need of a new goalkeeper after fan favourite Lukasz Fabianski confirmed that he would be departing at the end of the season.
That will leave Graham Potter with just one senior keeper in his squad ahead of the upcoming season, with a fresh option likely to be a target in the summer.
Villa and Argentina star Martinez could emerge as an option in the coming weeks after recent uncertainty surrounding his place at Villa Park.

It does feel as if a direct replacement for Alphonse Areola could be necessary in E20 after a season filled with ups and downs.
The Frenchman is capable of the spectacular but also has a mistake in him, which has cost his side on multiple occasions this campaign.
Replacing him with someone with the world-class ability of Martinez could prove to be an extremely impressive move if the Hammers could pull it off.

It does appear that a Villa Park exit is on the cards for the World Cup winner after being seen crying on the pitch after his side’s 2-0 win against Tottenham.
With PSR issues aplenty for the Villans, there is every chance that a sale could be enforced in the West Midlands, leaving the Irons with a potential opportunity to step in.
Former Hammers midfielder and Brentford manager Martin Allen believes a deal could be considered at the London Stadium, but is highly unlikely at this stage.
Speaking exclusively to West Ham Zone, Allen said: “Could West Ham afford to sign Martinez? They desperately need a goalkeeper.
“I very much doubt that they could be. He’ll be a player West Ham will be looking at and saying, ‘He would improve our team.’
“If you were the manager of West Ham, he would be the sort of goalkeeper who you would want because you have to sign players who will definitely improve you’re starting 11.“

West Ham could attempt ambitious Martinez move
It is safe to say that excitement would be rife if the Irons were able to pull off a move for the two-time Yashin Trophy award winner.
There is no doubt that the Argentine would represent an upgrade on Areola, who could once again be relegated to number two.
This would also be perfect for someone like Lanre Awesu, who would certainly benefit from the tutelage of Martinez in East London moving forward.
It does feel like a very unlikely deal at this stage, but Potter and Co. wouldn’t lose anything by attempting a move for the keeper.
