Roshane Thomas Q&A: West Ham to back David Moyes to strengthen these areas – Exclusive
West Ham Zone conducted an exclusive interview with The Athletic journalist Roshane Thomas, getting his views on the biggest talking points at the London Stadium…

West Ham will hand David Moyes significant investment in the summer to strengthen his side, according to The Athletic’s Roshane Thomas.
The Hammers boss has worked perfectly within a tight budget this season and has guided the Irons to challenge for Champions League football.
Thomas believes that the Hammers will target a new defender, striker and also serious cover for Michail Antonio in the final third at the London Stadium.
Speaking exclusively to West Ham Zone, Thomas said, “Let’s say West Ham finish in the top four, that helps with the personnel you can bring in.
“Even if it’s a top-eight finish, I still think Moyes will be backed in the summer for the simple fact of look at what he’s done so far.
“Bringing in players such as Jarrod Bowen, Vladimir Coufal, Tomas Soucek, Craig Dawson and Said Benrahma, just look at what he’s done so far.
“Providing he is backed again, he could bring in a striker, cover for Declan Rice and Soucek, bring in another centre-halve, who knows what they could achieve next season?
“I feel like the priority for West Ham this summer should be squad depth.”
Spot on.
David Gold and David Sullivan simply have no excuses but to back Moyes given the success that he has had this season in charge of the Irons.
Everyone expected the club to be comfortable in mid-table and potentially pushing into the top 10, but no one predicted that Champions League football was a possibility.
Moyes and his scouting team have exploited markets that no one else has, and that has been influential with the likes of Soucek and Coufal arriving.
With European football a huge possibility, either way, the Irons have to capitalise on this success and the first step in that is backing Moyes in the transfer window.
In other West Ham news, Fabian Balbuena likely to leave the London Stadium in the summer.
