Pundit wants four West Ham United summer signings after Declan Rice ‘fortune’
We’re delighted to welcome former West Ham United striker Frank McAvennie as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at the London Stadium…
Frank McAvennie believes West Ham need to sign four players in the summer transfer window to enjoy a good season.
The East London outfit are yet to bring in a new face this summer, much to the surprise and frustration of McAvennie.
The frustration has been heightened given how the Hammers have lost midfield maestro and captain fantastic Declan Rice to Arsenal.

His £105million switch to the Gunners has not been followed by expected incomings at West Ham, with that fee above what McAvennie thought was possible.
The former Hammers man has urged his old club to sign new players with that money, with Southampton star James Ward-Prowse and Chelsea ace Conor Gallagher among the ideal recruits.
Both David Moyes and Ward-Prowse want the player to make the switch to the London Stadium this summer, as per journalist Jack Rosser.
Speaking to West Ham Zone, McAvennie said: “For me they have to bring in four players to have a decent season. Whether they are going to do that in the next couple of weeks, I really don’t know. There are a lot of good players out there who would be great for West Ham, but we have to go and get them.

“Just keep it out of the papers and go and get it done, that would be nice. Every day there is another player added to the list of who we want. And we still haven’t got anyone.
“The lack of signings is frustrating for us fans, but I can only imagine how bad it is for Moyes. I would have thought he would have been knocking on Mr Sullivan’s door after winning the Europa Conference League saying ‘this is who I want.’
“I know you want to try and get them as cheap as possible, but we’ve made a fortune off Declan, more than what I expected to get, so we should be going to spend that money on new players, the likes of Ward-Prowse and Gallagher.”
In other West Ham news, a journalist has mooted an exit for one star who isn’t “entirely enamoured” with London Stadium life.
