Pundit shares ‘daunting’ Tomas Soucek verdict at West Ham United after what happened recently
We’re delighted to welcome former West Ham United striker Frank McAvennie as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at the London Stadium…
Frank McAvennie believes West Ham United star Tomas Soucek will continue to score more goals as defenders face the ‘Daunting’ prospect of marking him in the six-yard box.
The Czech Republic international has been in tremendous form in recent weeks with his winner against Backa Topola on Thursday (30 November), his fifth goal in as many games in all competitions.
Soucek had struggled earlier in the season and received criticism for his performances but McAvennie has backed him to score more goals despite West Ham’s “awful” displays of late.

Speaking to West Ham Zone, McAvennie said: “When he came in, he was scoring goals.
“And then Declan Rice started going forward, and he never played there.
“So I think that’s suiting Lucas Paqueta and all that now as well.
“He’s a big lad. When you’ve got a 6’4, or 6’3 guy come running in to the back post or something like that, you know it’s a bit daunting for defenders and he will score more goals like that.
“But it was awful, the performance against Burnley. I’m gonna be honest, the football was awful. We got a good result but my God.
“I didn’t watch the whole game but the amount of times I had on social media. But listen, it was a great result but the performance is not good is it?.”
The Hammers face off against Crystal Palace this weekend at the London Stadium, hoping to make it three wins from three Premier League games in which Soucek could make the telling difference one more.
In other West Ham news, a TNT Sports pundit was left blown away by one Hammers player after what he did in their 1-0 win over Backa Topola, he is “on flames” right now.
