Pundit predicts West Ham United stay for Tomas Soucek amid exit speculation, David Moyes ‘loves him’
We’re delighted to welcome former West Ham United striker Frank McAvennie as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at the London Stadium…
Frank McAvennie believes Tomas Soucek will stay at West Ham United this summer as David Moyes “loves” the midfielder.
According to Turkish outlet Haberturk (24 July), Galatasaray are interested in the signature of the 28-year-old in the current transfer window.
The Czech Republic international made a huge 50 appearances in all competitions last season for the East London club.

Soucek missed just two Premier League matches, while he played nine times as West Ham lifted the Europa Conference League trophy.
The midfielder chipped in with three goals and six assists along the way as the Hammers clinched European success and stayed in the Premier League.
He currently has just one year remaining on his contract with the East London outfit, who perhaps cannot afford to lose another midfielder after the sale of Declan Rice to Arsenal.
They could, however, bring in Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay, with journalist Alan Nixon reporting on Friday (4 August) that Hammers medical checks are underway for him and his Red Devils teammate Harry Maguire.

Speaking to West Ham Zone, McAvennie said: “I think he didn’t have the best of seasons last time out, but David loves him. Moyes plays him all the time.
“The fans are not daft, but if somebody isn’t playing well, just leave him out for a couple of weeks.
“But we didn’t really have anyone else to sit in there, so he couldn’t really do that. There are definitely players leaving this summer, and you have to replace them.”
In other West Ham news, a journalist has mooted an exit for one star who isn’t “entirely enamoured” with London Stadium life.
