Pundit claims Jarrod Bowen’s price has gone up after West Ham United ace makes England debut
We’re delighted to welcome former West Ham United striker Frank McAvennie as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at the London Stadium…
Frank McAvennie believes Jarrod Bowen’s price has gone up after he made his England debut and the West Ham owners are delighted about it.
Bowen got his first ever international cap during the 1-0 defeat to Hungary on Saturday [June 4] and played all 90 minutes, turning in a good performance despite the result.
After being linked with Liverpool this summer by The Mirror on May 18th, the former defender now believes that any price they previously had in mind will have gone up after he became an international player and says he fully deserved his cap.

“Excellent,” he told West Ham Zone. “Of course it will [give him confidence] and it’ll bump his price up if he gets sold as well.
“I’m thinking David Gold and David Sullivan will be cheering him on.
“He deserves it. He deserved it for the way he’s been playing this year. He deserved to get a cap and he didn’t let himself down.
“The team were awful in the game, but it’s a different situation. Just to get in the squad is a great achievement to be honest with you with the amount of midfield players that England have got.
“So I thought he done alright when he played. Not disappointed. He’s got his cap and you can’t take that away from him. Now his price is up because he’s an international. Unfortunately that’s what happens.”

Bowen came on as a substitute in England’s draw with Germany a few days later and helped change the game ahead of a late penalty, that was dispatched by Harry Kane.
After a career-best season of 18 goals and 11 assists in all competitions it’s no surprise there is talk of a potential move away, but the Hammers will be doing everything they can to ensure he’s at the London Stadium in Claret and Blue next season.
