Mohammed Kudus wows pundit in ‘proper talent’ verdict after what he did recently for West Ham United
We’re delighted to welcome former West Ham United striker Frank McAvennie as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at the London Stadium…
Frank McAvennie was wowed by West Ham United star Mohammed Kudus after his recent goal against Brentford.
The summer signing scored an acrobatic effort as the Hammers lost 3-2 to the Bees earlier this month (4 November).
Having joined from Dutch club Ajax in the summer transfer window, the 23-year-old now has four goals in claret and blue.
Speaking to West Ham Zone, McAvennie said: “I look at the midfield and I’m excited with what West Ham have got at the moment. Kudus and Jarrod Bowen going forward, oh my god. You can play those two up front if Michail Antonio needs a rest.
“Kudus, what a goal he scored against Brentford. He’s a proper talent. If Moyes can get the right formation and the right way of playing, let them play.
“I’d love to just sit in the stands and watch one game and say ‘Wow,’ because they have got the kind of players that can give that wow factor. And it’s great to have them at the club, but now they have got to be set free.”
The Hammers certainly did a fine job with their summer recruitment, with Kudus joined by the likes of James Ward-Prowse, Edson Alvarez and Konstantinos Mavropanos in moving to the London Stadium.
It is, however, the Ghana international who has perhaps set East London alight more than the others given his goals and attacking ability.
The versatile forward boasts eight goals in all competitions this season, having also netted four times for Ajax before switching clubs at the end of August.
In other West Ham news, Hammers co-owner David Sullivan has made a Moyes sack decision at the London Stadium club.
