Medical verdict emerges as West Ham United eye Tim Krul transfer
Tim Krul is expected to pass a medical at West Ham if needed, despite being 36 years old, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that even though he did not play a single league game last season for Luton Town, he will undergo a different kind of medical as compared to outfielders.
This comes after Sun journalist Alan Nixon reported on 16 June that the Hammers are keen on signing the free agent, who has made 222 Premier League appearances in his career.
Speaking exclusively with West Ham Zone, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and a Sports Scientist, said:
“Despite him being 36, he has adapted to the role of a reserve keeper where he’s unlikely to play a single league game all season.
“The key indicator is that he’s not suffered any injuries and that’s a positive.
“I would expect no real issues with his medical.
“Keepers have slightly different medicals anyway, so he’s expected to clear it.“
West Ham do not need to secure Tim Krul transfer
The Hammers recently signed Wes Foderingham, who will likely serve as the third-choice goalkeeper behind Alphonse Areola and Lukasz Fabianski.
With Fabianski still in the squad, the club do not need to sign Krul unless Fabianski leaves.
Foderingham’s addition provides adequate depth in the goalkeeping department, making another signing unnecessary.

The wages can be used to strengthen the depth in other areas of the pitch as that’ll be more necessary.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers have made a significant transfer swoop as a bid has been submitted for a Euro 2024 star which is the highest one received by the club.
