Liverpool told to sell Mohamed Salah in Jurgen Klopp verdict after West Ham United incident

Frank McAvennie has told Liverpool they should “get rid of” Mohamed Salah after his bust-up with Jurgen Klopp during the 2-2 draw with West Ham at the London Stadium.

The former Hammers man insisted that the winger’s actions were “disgraceful” and he knew what the public reaction to the incident would be and knew the attention it would get.

He went on to fume that any disagreements between the players and the manager should be kept at the training ground rather than playing out in public.

McAvennie – speaking exclusively to West Ham Zone – insisted that things at Liverpool are becoming “sour” and Klopp doesn’t deserve what has happened after all he has done for the club.

I think it’s disgraceful. Nobody is bigger than the club. Why is he being petulant like that? It’s nothing to do with anything on the touchline, something has happened on the training ground,” McAvennie ranted.

What happens at the training ground, I don’t care what anybody says, it has to stay at the training ground, don’t make it public. He knew he was getting watched.

When a manager comes out and says they’re leaving… I would get rid of Salah, though. I don’t like that. Klopp didn’t deserve that, go and have a word and talk to him.

I just think it was a bit disrespectful to Jurgen after what he’s done for Liverpool. It’s getting a wee bit sour at the moment.

Liverpool told to sell Mohamed Salah after West Ham incident

This has all emerged following a bust-up between Salah and Klopp on the side of the pitch which was caught by TV cameras, as Jamie Carragher insisted it would have been due to the substitute not being ready in time to make an impact.

McAvennie is not the first to suggest Salah should be sold as a result of his actions, with Ray Parlour also telling the Reds to cash in on a deal if Saudi Arabian clubs are interested, with a potential £80million price tag mooted.

Frustrations at Liverpool are sky-high as things stand, with West Ham piling on to an awful run of form, during which they have taken just eight points from a possible 18, costing them their position in the title race as Arsenal and Manchester City continue to battle.

Meanwhile, West Ham are enduring their own managerial situation as things stand with uncertainty over David Moyes’ future, with the likes of Ruben Amorim and Julen Lopetegui linked as it looks like being a turbulent summer for several clubs.
