Jarrod Bowen worth more than Declan Rice as West Ham United transfer update emerges
Frank McAvennie believes any offer for West Ham star Jarrod Bowen would need to exceed Declan Rice’s £100million transfer to Arsenal last summer.
According to HITC [25 June], Tottenham have already seen their enquiry into the winger rejected by the Hammers, with the club informing Spurs that a bid of £150million would be needed to sign Bowen.
It is understood that, while Ange Postecoglou is looking to bolster his attack this summer, Spurs have no interest in reaching that fee, and McAvennie believes the Irons have no reason to decrease their price tag.
Speaking exclusively to West Ham Zone, he said: “If someone comes in with a £150million offer, they’ll obviously want him. Declan Rice went for £100million [last summer] and he’s worth more than that.
“With the way Rice is playing in the Euros, though, he’s not worth half of that, but we all know how good he is. David Moyes said on TV the other day that he wanted him to go for £150million and everyone thought he was mad.
“But Bowen is a West Ham boy, married to Danny Dyer’s daughter, so he’s West Ham through and through. If he’s happy, why wouldn’t he stay? They’re in the Premier League and will be staying there for a long time, and they’ll be playing the kind of football he wants to play next season.
“I don’t think anyone will come in with £150million, and he signed a long contract. He’s settled.”
West Ham United told to hold out for over £100million in Jarrod Bowen deal
Rice and Bowen have both offered so much to the Hammers already, with both leading the club to the Europa Conference League trophy in 2022/23.

While the former has since moved on to the Emirates Stadium, Bowen continues to star for the Hammers, having notched 20 goals and 10 assists in all competitions last season.
The 27-year-old has been one of the most formidable goalscorers at the club in decades, so West Ham should settle for no less than what he is valued at. And while some teams may disagree, the Hammers have no pressure to lower their asking price.
