Frank McAvennie predicts West Ham win over Tottenham Hotspur
We’re delighted to welcome former West Ham United striker Frank McAvennie as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at the London Stadium…
Frank McAvennie believes that West Ham will beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 in the Premier League this afternoon.
Last season, the Irons won 3-1 and drew 3-3 with Spurs, and the former Irons forward believes that his old side will extend their recent good run today.
West Ham have had a strong start to the season though both their league defeats have come at the London Stadium, but McAvennie can’t see that happening today.

Speaking exclusively to the West Ham Zone, McAvennie said: “I am going to go for 2-1 because I think they’ll win that.
“The front two, Son and Kane, are capable of scoring. I just think they are great together.
“I am going to go for 2-1; it will be a good weekend for West Ham.”
Confident stuff from McAvennie, and why not.
Spurs have had a decent start to the season, but they have only scored nine goals in the league, which is less than the Irons.
They have also lost to Arsenal and Crystal Palace, so you would expect that the Irons should be able to get a win over their London rivals [Sky Sports].
David Moyes made six changes on Thursday night in the Europa League, so you would expect the likes of Michail Antonio and Said Benrahma to return.
This should make the Irons even better going forward, and we can see Tottenham’s defence struggling to cope with Moyes’ side.

However, McAvennie makes a great point about Harry Kane and Heung-min Son, and we can’t see the Hammers keeping a clean sheet, unfortunately.
However, after Brighton & Hove Albion’s defeat yesterday, the Irons can briefly jump into the top four with a win, which would be a fair reflection of just how well they have done this season.
